Chapter 1 Noor - The Unwanted Bride

Far from the noise and chaos of the city, on a quiet village’s unpaved road, an expensive, gleaming car came to a halt. The car stopped in front of a house that was ordinary in appearance—neither too big nor too small. The car door opened, and three extremely handsome and impressive-looking young men stepped out. These were none other than Ranvijay, Karan, and Shivansh.

The three of them entered the house with heavy steps. The atmosphere inside the room was quiet and sorrowful. Lying on the bed was a 75-year-old elderly man—Raghubir Shekhawat.

Raghubir Ji had once been a famous businessman of his time and a fearsome mafia don. But why he had suddenly left everything and started living in this obscure village was still a secret that no one knew. The three grandsons went near him and touched their grandfather’s feet. Seeing his grandsons, a sparkle appeared in Raghubir Ji’s eyes.

In a trembling voice, he said, “There is a special reason why I have called you three here. I don’t have much time left, but before I leave, I want to entrust my life and my soul to you.”

The three brothers became confused. Then Raghubir Ji revealed the main matter: “I want you three to marry my daughter ‘Noor’. She is very innocent; she doesn’t understand this cruel world.”

Hearing this, the ground slipped from under the three brothers’ feet. “Marriage? And that too all three of us with the same girl? This is impossible, Grandfather!” Ranvijay said angrily. All three clearly refused.

A stern look came into Raghubir Ji’s eyes. In a cold tone, he said, “If you don’t do this marriage, I will disown you from my entire property. Remember, this is not the fruit of your father’s hard work; this is my legacy. Either get married, or end up on the streets.”

Out of the fear of losing power and wealth, the three brothers swallowed their pride and agreed. They thought that perhaps this girl was some greedy schemer who had trapped their grandfather. But they had no idea that the real twist behind the mafia empire and this property was something entirely different.

The next day, the atmosphere in the village’s old temple was tense. The three brothers sat on the wedding platform dressed in sherwanis, hatred clearly visible on their faces. Then a girl arrived in a red bridal attire with a long veil—Noor.

Raghubir Ji watched everything from his wheelchair. The priest began chanting the mantras. Raghubir Ji thought to himself, “My child, I know I am doing wrong to you. These three may cause you a lot of pain, but until ‘those two’ arrive, you will have to endure all this. To save your life, I had no choice but to throw you into this fire.”

“The marriage is complete. From today, you four are husband and wife.” The priest’s voice echoed.

Immediately after the wedding, Noor ran and clung to her grandfather’s neck and began sobbing uncontrollably. Raghubir Ji stroked her head and said, “Don’t cry, my child. From today, these three are your life. Just promise me that you will never leave their side.”

Noor promised while sobbing. On the other side, the three brothers watched all this without any emotion. Only one thought was in their minds—“Why wouldn’t she cry? She’s going from the footpath to a palace. We know these kinds of girls very well who form relationships only for money.”

Suddenly, Raghubir Ji’s breathing became uneven. He blessed all four of them and closed his eyes forever. Noor’s screams echoed through the temple.

After performing their grandfather’s last rites, the three brothers took Noor with them to Mumbai’s glittering world without saying a word—where hatred and conspiracies were waiting for her.

A luxurious black SUV stopped in front of a massive mansion built in Mumbai’s most expensive locality. The house was no less than a palace—high walls, golden carvings, and shining marble. During the entire journey, silence had prevailed inside the car; no one had spoken a single word to Noor. Noor was still sitting huddled on the back seat, her long veil covering her face.

As soon as the car stopped, the three brothers—Ranvijay, Karan, and Shivansh—without looking back, left Noor there and quickly went inside. Tears were in Noor’s eyes, but she wiped them and followed them with unsteady steps.

Just then, a sharp voice echoed in the hall, “Ranvijay! Stop right there.”

Standing in front was Aarti Shekhawat, with a hard expression on her face. Looking at Noor with disgust-filled eyes, she asked, “Who is this girl? And what is she doing in our house dressed like a bride?”

In a cold voice, Ranvijay narrated the entire story of their grandfather’s decision and the wedding that had taken place in the temple.

Aarti’s face turned red with anger. She turned towards her husband Raunak Shekhawat and shouted, “Raunak! Look at what Father has done! Married three boys to the same girl at once? And that too to this uneducated, rustic-looking girl? I will never accept her as my daughter-in-law!”

There was anger in Raunak Shekhawat’s eyes as well. He said, “In his old age, Father has insulted all of us. This marriage is nothing but a joke.”

Just then, a calm and sweet voice came, “Bhabhi, please don’t say that. If Father has taken this decision, there must be some big reason behind it.”

These were Pooja Ji (Ranvijay’s aunt and Karan-Shivansh’s mother).

Aarti Ji snapped back at her, “Pooja! I can never accept this rustic girl as the wife of my only son Ranvijay. I have many dreams for my son’s bride. If you are so eager, then accept her as the wife of your two sons (Karan and Shivansh). But at least ask them as well—will they accept her as their wife?”

Karan and Shivansh looked at Noor together. There was hatred and contempt on their faces.

“Never, Mother!” Karan said. “A middle-class and greedy girl like her is not even worthy of our servants, let alone us.”

Shivansh also said many harsh and insulting things about Noor in anger. Seeing her sons’ behaviour, Pooja Ji remained silent; there was pity for Noor in her eyes.

The three brothers went to their respective rooms without looking at Noor. Silence fell over the hall. Aarti Ji also stormed away.

Pooja Ji slowly came near Noor. She held her hand and took her to a room. Closing the door, she said affectionately, “Beta, don’t lose courage. The situation is bad right now, but everything will be alright.”

Then Pooja Ji gently lifted Noor’s veil. The moment Noor’s face was revealed, Pooja Ji’s breath stopped. Noor’s beauty was such that anyone could lose themselves in it—large doe-like eyes, a sculpted face, and a glow of innocence.

“You… you are a fairy incarnate, Noor!” Pooja Ji said while praising her. She told her to rest and left from there.

Alone in the room, Noor was completely silent. It was impossible to read the expressions on her face. Whether she was sad or scared, nothing could be made out. She was simply staring blankly out of the window, as if remembering someone. There was a strange secret in her silence. Lost in thought, she didn’t realise when sleep overtook her and she dozed off right there.

Will Noor be able to endure the hatred of these three brothers? And who are “those two” that Raghubir Ji was waiting for?
